How to Turn on JavaScript

The process of enabling Javascript varies according to what Internet browser you are using. Please locate your browser and browser version.

To find your browser version, click on the “help” tab from your browser window, and then click on “about Firefox/Opera, etc.” When you click on this link, a new window will appear. You will find your browser version inside this window.

Now that you know your browser version, follow these instructions to enable Javascript:

Internet Explorer 5, 5.5, 6 & 7

Locate and click on “tools” from your browser menu. From there, click on “security” and then “custom level.” Locate “scripting,” and click on the “enable” button for “active scripting.” You will be asked “are you sure?” Click “yes.” Next, click on “ok.” Close this window, and refresh the webpage in your browser.

Firefox

Locate and click on “tools,” and then “options.” Find the “content” tab, and check the checkbox next to “enable Javascript.” Next, click on “ok.” Close this window, and refresh the webpage in your browser.

Netscape Navigator 6

Locate and click on “edit” and then “preferences.” Next, click on “advanced.” Check the checkbox for “enable JavaScript for Navigator.” Next, click on “ok.” Close this window, and refresh the webpage in your browser.

Opera

Locate and click on “file,” and then “quick preferences.” Check the checkbox for “enable Javascript.” Next, click on “ok.” Close this window, and refresh the webpage in your browser.

AOL

Locate and click on the following… Settings -> preferences -> Internet properties -> custom level. Scroll down to “scripting,” and click on “active scripting.” Click “okay,” and then “yes,” confirming that you want to make the change. Click “okay” once again, and close the preferences window. Close this window, and refresh the webpage in your browser.

Mac Safari

Locate and click on “Safari,” and then “preferences.” Next, click on “security,” and check the checkbox to “enable Javascript.” Close this window, and refresh the webpage in your browser.

Mac Firefox

Locate and then click on “Firefox,” and then “preferences.” Next, move to the “content” tab, and select “enable JavaScript.” Close this window, and refresh the webpage in your browser.

Mac Internet Explorer 5.x, in OS X

Click on “Explorer” or “edit,” and then click on “preferences.” Find the triangle next to “web browser,” and click on it. Find “active content,” and click on “enable scripting.” Next, click on “ok.” Close this window, and refresh the webpage in your browser.

Mac Netscape Navigator 7.x, in OS X

Click on “Netscape” or “edit,” and then click on “preferences.” If there is a triangle next to “advanced,” click on it. Find and click on “scripts and plugins,” then check the checkbox next to “Navigator,” which will be under “enable Javascript for.” Next, click on “ok.” Close this window, and refresh the webpage in your browser.
